ET Phone Home

Ok.. so it wasn't ET, it was James. It was a welcome surprise this 4th of July morning to get a call at quarter to 8 in the morning. He sounded good... still would love to come home but its not bad there. He's amazed and annoyed with those who won't shut up and don't care if they get 'smoked', which means they get yelled at and have to do lots of push ups. Some must think they are at a social event or something. For the most part it's not too bad. Some things suck but you just get through it. They have already done the tear gas chamber. He said it wasn't as bad as he thought it would be but it's even worse when you come out and the fresh air hits you. Today starts his 3rd week of actual Basic Training. August 21 is looking like his graduation date. It will be nice to have that cast in stone (info from Ft. Leonard Wood).
